About The CSA

Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a system for creating a mutually beneficial relationship between us, the grower, and you, the consumer! By investing in your local farmer at the beginning of the season with the purchase of a CSA share, you allow us access to the capital we need to ensure the production of sustainably grown products. A CSA membership is more cost effective than market pricing—we also include recipes and ideas tailored to what we’re offering.

In an effort to make our produce more accessible, we are offering our share options at a sliding scale. Check out this chart to decide what option is best for you!

  • The regular share size is ideal for households 1-3, who don’t cook every meal.

  • Our large share size is best for households 3-5 , or especially if you cook very frequently.

CSA AGREEMENTS

Duration & Start Date

The share season runs May through October for a total of 23 weeks/shares. The exact start date is determined by a number of factors, primarily weather. We are planning for the third week of May and will communicate about changes as the date approaches.

Payment

When you sign up, you are agreeing to pay for the full amount of your share and to completing payments on time. Ideally the full cost is paid one-time up front when you purchase your share. This helps the farm to purchase seeds, equipment, repairs, and generally prepare for the season ahead. We recognize this option may not be available to you, and we are offering a weekly pay share. when making this selection your payment method will be automatically charged on each monday for the duration of the share. If payment does not work for whatever reason, we will reach out.

Sliding Scale

We do not verify income or financial status to qualify for any price-point on the sliding scale. We trust that our customers will choose their price point with honesty and integrity.

Pick-Up

You are responsible for picking up your share from your preferred location, or arranging for someone else to pick it up for you, during the determined window of time. We are still finding the best markets and pickup locations in Charlottesville and Richmond, and will reach out to all CSA members as soon as we have the details.

Out Of Town/Missed Pick-Up

If you are going out of town or are unable to pick-up your share, please give us a week's notice via email, and we can either arrange donation, or you can double up for the next available week. If you miss a pick-up without making alternative arrangements beforehand, we may share or donate it.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel your share, please email us. If you cancel after the season has begun, we will refund you on a pro-rated basis, minus an overall 10% planning and supply fee.
